Category overview
About boots & outdoor footwear
The five reference styles are all lace-up boots: leather ankle boots, speed-hook boots, rugged and casual outdoor boots and chunky lug-sole boots. Pull-on Chelsea boots, chukkas and desert boots are built on the same constructions and can be developed to your design.
Rubber soles (lug, crepe, wedge or commando-style) define much of the look and weight. Stock soles are available in many profiles; custom outsoles need tooling.
No safety, protective, slip-resistance or water-resistance claim is made unless tested to a stated standard for your order.

Development
Sizing, sampling, MOQ and quality
Sizing
- Ankle and instep girth are critical; they are measured on the last and checked on wearers
- EU sizing default; UK/US labelling on request
Sampling
- Proto sample to confirm design, pattern and construction
- Fit sample on the agreed last, checked on wearers in the core size
- Size set across the full size run to confirm grading
- Pre-production sample approved as the sealed bulk standard
MOQ
- Rubber outsole choice (stock vs custom) is the main MOQ driver
- Leather minimums per colour apply
- Confirmed in the quotation
Quality checkpoints
- Incoming material check: colour, thickness, grain or weave defects
- Cutting accuracy and component matching per pair
- Stitch density, seam alignment and thread tension on closed uppers
- Lasting: toe and heel shape, symmetry, no wrinkles at the vamp
- Sole bond: visual check of the bond line and peel checks on samples
- Final inspection: pairing, size marking, cleanliness and packaging
- Shaft height and symmetry between left and right boots
- Elastic gusset recovery on Chelsea boots
